ELK Tournament

Here's an addition that we've been meaning to do for several years. This is the annual golf tournament that takes place each year in Cincinnati, Ohio, in memory of our son, Doug, and which benefits The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati. This year's (2005), held in May, was the 15th annual, and another great success. We've included some more details, as well as some photos from this year's tournament and banquet!

This year, for the 2nd year, the ELK was held at the new Legendary Run Golf Course in the Anderson area. This move was made when it was decided to move the event to Spring, and to take advantage of the availability of this great golf course and facility (not to mention the outstanding staff!) Prior to 2004, the tournament had always been held in July at Crooked Tree Golf Course, and those folks served us well for the 13 years it was held there.

The picture above is special to us, because Min & Jake Ruppert, and their children, and their families, were really the driving force behind the original idea of a Tournament in Doug's honor, that would benefit The Boys & Girls Clubs of Cincinnati. What a great way to have your son remembered, and what a terrific cause!

For Patty and me, it's obviously a special event, not only because of the tribute, and cause, but because it gives us the opportunity to see Doug's old pals from High School and College, and to enjoy the families they now bring back each year for the ELK!
